Asbestos Awareness (OSHA/EPA/AHERA)

Attend any of the Initial Asbestos classes
This training is designed for individuals who work in areas that contain asbestos containing materials (ACM), but do not disturb them in the course of their work. Topics include health effects of asbestos exposure, recognition of suspect ACM materials, recognition of damaged ACM.
Asbestos Building Inspector – Initial (EPA/AHERA)
3 days, 8 am – 5 pm
This course is a requirement for individuals who will investigate public or private buildings for asbestos-containing materials (ACM). Course topics include legal considerations associated with environmental investigations, health effects of asbestos exposure, applicable asbestos regulations, inspecting for the presence of ACM, asbestos bulk sampling, assessing the condition of ACM, and writing the asbestos inspection report.
Asbestos Building Inspector – Refresher (EPA/AHERA)
1/2 day, 8 am – 12 pm
Copies of current certification required for admittance to class. AHERA-accredited personnel are required to attend an annual recertification seminar. Project designers, workers, contractor/supervisors attend a yearly 8-hour update. Building inspectors and management planners attend a yearly 4-hour update.
Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor – Initial (EPA/AHERA)
5 days, 8 am – 5 pm
This EPA-approved seminar is intended for supervisory personnel who direct asbestos abatement projects. The curriculum meets EPA/AHERA requirements as well as the National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPS) and OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101/1910.1001. NOTE: Contractor/Supervisor trainees receive all subject matter offered in the Worker course in addition to instruction on supervisory techniques, contract specifications, legal considerations, insurance types, coverage limitations, and bonding.

Asbestos Operations & Maintenance (EPA/AHERA/OSHA)
2 days, 8 am – 5 pm
Under federal regulations, this training is mandatory for all school maintenance and janitorial personnel. The two-day seminar includes an Asbestos Awareness presentation as well as work practices, health considerations, personal protection and hands-on activities. The course meets all EPA/AHERA and OSHA requirements.

Confined Space (OSHA 1910.146)
1 day, 8 am – 5 pm
The purpose of this program is to provide an overview of proper confined space entry practices and procedures. Information is presented regarding the specific duties of the Entrant, Attendant, and Supervisor in a confined space entry situation. Training consists of utilizing effective communication, recognizing the symptoms of exposure to hazards, and evacuation/rescue procedures. Discussion will include an overview of current regulations, recordkeeping requirements, and recent incidents involving confined spaces.
DOT HazMat Awareness (HM-126F Title 49 Subpart, 172.700)
1 day, 8 am – 5 pm
This course is designed for the employee who is directly involved with hazardous materials transportation safety and procedures, i.e., anyone who: *loads, unloads or handles hazardous materials *manufactures, tests, reconditions, repairs, modifies, marks or otherwise represents containers, drums or packaging as qualified for use in the transportation of
* hazardous materials prepares hazardous materials for transportation
* prepares hazardous materials transportation documents
* operates a vehicle used to transport hazardous materials
This one-day class provides an awareness-level knowledge of the transportation of hazardous materials in compliance with Subchapter C of Title 49. Topics covered are recognition of hazardous materials, hazard communication, familiarization with hazardous materials regulations, emergency response rules and an overview of the shipping requirements for hazardous materials. This course meets DOT requirements and the UPS HazMat training mandate.
DOT HazMat Certification (HM 181 Title 49 CFR parts 106-180)
3 days, 8 am – 5 pm
This course is designed for people who manage and supervise employees responsible for the packaging and shipping of hazardous materials; and for employees who are responsible for the packaging and/or shipping of more than one type of product containing different materials. It features an in-depth discussion and review of the DOT 49 CFR regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials. Topics include: Identification of hazardous materials, marking and labeling requirements, shipping paper documentation, placarding requirements, and emergency response rules. Title 49 regulations are used throughout the course. One copy of an enhanced 49CFR book is provided to each student and is included in the price of the class. This course meets DOT requirements and the UPS HazMat training mandate.
DOT/HazMat Transportation Refresher (49CFR 172.704(c)(2))
1 day, 8 am – 5 pm
Required every 3 years.
Prerequisite: Strong working knowledge of DOT Hazmat Regulations or HM181. This 8-hour course is designed to fulfill the 49 CFR 172 Subpart H requirement for recurrent training at least once every three years. Students are updated with regulatory changes and are given refresher training in the use and application of the 49 CFR manual. Other topics covered include: hazardous materials identification, marking and labeling requirements, shipping paper documentation, placarding requirements and emergency response rules. One copy of the enhanced Title 49 regulation book is provided to each student and is included in the price of the class. This course meets DOT requirements and the UPS HazMat training mandate.
Dust Sampling
2 days, 4pm – 8pm
The main aim of this new class is to learn more about Lead dust and how it affects people. Upon completion of the course, students are certified to collect clearance samples after Lead abatement in HUD or Section 8 housing in compliance with the EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule, but that is not all. The class has practical usage for those who do renovation, repair and painting projects in houses built before 1978.
40-hour HAZWOPER (OSHA 1910.120)
5 days, 8 am – 5 pm
Intended for site workers, operators, handlers, personnel at treatment/storage/disposal facilities, subcontractors and others needing to comply with OSHA initial 40-hour training requirements. HAZWOPER provides knowledge and skills necessary to assist with remedial operations surrounding a hazardous materials incident and utilizes a combination of classroom presentation and “hands-on” field exercises. Course syllabus covers: hazardous materials recognition, basics of toxicology, employee medical surveillance, chemical hazards, respiratory and personal protection, monitoring equipment and procedures, regulatory compliance (OSHA, SARA, CERCLA, RCRA), confined space entry, operational zone determination, spill control engineering and decontamination.
24-Hour Hazwoper (OSHA 1910.120.E.3.ii)
3 days, 8 am – 5 pm
The 24hr Hazwoper is for workers occasionally on site for a limited task or full-time site workers. Both worker categories are to work in areas where they are unlikely to be exposed over PEL’s and/or the site has been monitored and fully characterized indicating exposure levels are under PEL’s and published exposure levels where respirators are not necessary and the characterization indicates there are no health hazards or the possibility of an emergency developing. One day of documented actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained, experienced supervisor is part of this training requirement. Workers with 24 hours of training who become general site workers or who are required to wear respirators, shall have an additional 16 hours of training and two days of actual field experience (40hr Hazwoper).
HAZWOPER Annual Refresher (OSHA 1910.120)
1 day, 8 am – 5 pm
Offered in compliance with OSHA Annual Refresher training requirements. Instructional focus in this one-day update is regulatory review, standards for generators, hazard communications, site safety considerations, emergency response actions, waste-handling techniques, and operations and planning. Course syllabus is changed yearly.
IATA Initial (International Air Transport)
2 days, 8 am – 5 pm
Prerequisite: Strong working knowledge of DOT Hazmat Regulations or HM 181. Price is $400.00 without the regulations book or $600.00 including the book.
IATA Refresher
1 day, 8 am – 5 pm
Prerequisite: IATA Initial. Required every 2 years.
Price: $250 without the regulation book. $400 with regulation book
Lead Inspector – Refresher
1 day, 8 am – 5 pm
Required every 3 years.
Lead Risk Assessor – Refresher
1 day, 8 am – 5 pm
Required every 3 years.
Lead Renovator
1 day, 8 am – 5 pm
Applies to any renovation, repair and painting activities on Target Housing or child-occupied facilities built before 1978.
Military EM 385-1-1
5 days, 8 am – 5 pm
Contractors, military and government employees working on military bases and U.S. Army Corps of Engineer projects must comply with the requirements of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety Health Requirements Manual. This course covers safety as well as the procedures and requirements as set forth in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety Health Requirements Manual. Tpoics covered include preparing a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan, site Safety Officer qualifications and responsibilities, Activity Hazard Analysis forms and development, site personnel training, Incident Response and reporting procedures, job site auditing, Hazard Ccommunication and expectations of the FEAD/ROICC overseeing the project.
Attendees receive a 30-hr OSHA Construction card and a copy of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety Health Requirements Manual.

MSHA New/Inexperienced Surface Miner (30 CFR)
3 days, 8 am – 5 pm
This course meets MSHA requirements for initial training of new personnel without previous mining experience. Classroom instruction must be followed by on-site task and hazard training. Curriculum includes: Rights of Miners, introduction to the work environment, transportation/ground control, communication systems, respiratory devices, hazard recognition, health and safety, first aid, evacuation plans and more
MSHA Annual Refresher (30 CFR)
1 day, 8 am – 5 pm
Fulfills recertification requirements of the U.S. Department of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration, Subpart 48.
OSHA 10-Hour Construction (OSHA 1926)
2 days, 7 am – 3:30 pm first day, 7am – 9:30am second day
This extended one-day session provides safety and health topics to entry level participants in the construction industry. Curriculum subjects cover health and safety provisions of OSHA’s General Duty Clause to inform employees of roles and responsibilities of both employee and employer in workplace hazard recognition, risk management, accident prevention, record keeping.
OSHA 30-Hour Construction (OSHA 1926)
4 days, 7 am – 3:30 pm
This extended three-day course is designed for individuals responsible for implementing, managing and enforcing workplace safety efforts. Class curriculum provides a detailed, cross-referenced awareness of OSHA construction standards and their job site implementation. Syllabus includes: regulatory requirements; safety/health/environmental controls; personal protective equipment; materials handling; fire prevention; hand and portable power tools; electrical safety . . . and more.
You will receive a 30-Hour OSHA Outreach card.
RCRA Initial (40 CFR)
2 days, 8 am – 5 pm
The fundamentals of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act in compliance with 40 CFR requirements. The seminar covers: RCRA basics, hazardous wastes, waste minimization/source reduction, inspections and self-audits, contingency planning and the latest regulatory updates. A MUST for large quantity generators.
RCRA Refresher
1 day, 8 am – 5 pm
