HazMat Transportation – Training & Consulting Services
DOT, IATA & IMDG
Did you know that more than 800,000 hazmat shipments occur in the United States every day which adds up to 4 billion tons of hazardous materials transported by highway, rail, air and vessel every year in the United States alone? That’s a staggering figure. To transport these hazmat shipments through our communities safely, we depend on the knowledge and competencies of everyone involved in the shipping process from start to finish.
Filling out shipping papers, marking and labeling, placarding and packaging hazardous material shipments is a complicated matter that starts with the shipper of origin. The Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR; 49 CFR Parts 171-180) requires initial and recurrent training of any employee whose responsibilities directly affect hazardous materials transportation safety. Hazmat Employers are required to train each Hazmat Employee that in any way performs functions that are regulated by the DOT HMR. There are no exceptions for small companies or self-employed individuals. Even if you ship a small quantity of hazardous materials one time, training is required.
ETC is a reliable resource for 49 CFR DOT and IATA training through open enrollment classes in Tucson and Phoenix. We are also available for custom site-specific training. Need multi-modal (DOT, IATA and IMDG) training? Call us!
