The EPA’s mission is to protect human health and the environment. One of the ways they accomplish this is by enacting regulations that help companies understand how to control and prevent environmental contamination from pollutants, toxic substances and hazardous materials. ETC supports these efforts and currently offers open enrollment classes in RCRA as well as a variety of asbestos courses.
ETC’s Response to COVID-19
RCRA
“The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) is the public law that creates the framework for the proper management of hazardous and non-hazardous solid waste and gives EPA the authority to control hazardous waste from the “cradle-to-grave.” This includes the generation, transportation, treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste. RCRA also set forth a framework for the management of non-hazardous solid wastes.” – epa.gov
Asbestos
One of the EPA’s priorities is to protect the public from the adverse health effects of asbestos. It does this by regulating asbestos in school buildings, public and commercial buildings, at clean-up sites, and in certain asbestos products. Ensuring the proper handling and disposal of asbestos containing material is vital because the tiny asbestos fibers remain intact in air, water and soil posing a health hazard to all of us.

EPA Consulting Services
Site Assessment Program Development
In the case of a hazardous spill, will you have an onsite response team? Hire a third party contractor? What kind of spill response equipment do you need? Are your employees properly trained? ETC can assist you in making decisions about your emergency response plan and implement a training program that meets its needs.
Risk Management Plans
Facilities that use extremely hazardous substances are required by the EPA to develop a RMP to help keep hazards from affecting air, water and soil. ETC will assist you in identifying the potential effects of a chemical accident; identify steps the facility is currently taking to prevent accidents and prepare emergency response procedures should an accident occur.
Spill / Emergency Response Plans
How will you respond if hazardous waste is released into your environment? Companies are required to implement a spill/emergency response plan assigning responsibilities in the event of a hazardous waste release.
Waste Consulting Services
Would you intentionally throw your money away? What if you could...ensure environmental compliance, improve sustainability and reduce costs? ETC’s environmental consulting services include Cost Reduction Assessments, RCRA Compliance Audits and Waste Program Development.
