ETC’s Response to COVID-19

The EPA’s mission is to protect human health and the environment. One of the ways they accomplish this is by enacting regulations that help companies understand how to control and prevent environmental contamination from pollutants, toxic substances and hazardous materials. ETC supports these efforts and currently offers open enrollment classes in RCRA as well as a variety of asbestos courses.

  • RCRA

“The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) is the public law that creates the framework for the proper management of hazardous and non-hazardous solid waste and gives EPA the authority to control hazardous waste from the “cradle-to-grave.” This includes the generation, transportation, treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste. RCRA also set forth a framework for the management of non-hazardous solid wastes.” –

  • Asbestos

One of the EPA’s priorities is to protect the public from the adverse health effects of asbestos. It does this by regulating asbestos in school buildings, public and commercial buildings, at clean-up sites, and in certain asbestos products. Ensuring the proper handling and disposal of asbestos containing material is vital because the tiny asbestos fibers remain intact in air, water and soil posing a health hazard to all of us.
