This course is a requirement for individuals who will investigate public or private buildings for asbestos containing materials (ACM). Course topics include legal considerations associated with environmental investigations, health effects of asbestos exposure, applicable asbestos regulations, inspecting for the presence of ACM, asbestos bulk sampling, assessing the condition of ACM, and writing the asbestos inspection report. This course includes a field trip to evaluate building materials. Completion of this 3-day course certifies the individual in the identification of suspect materials that may contain asbestos. A written exam with a minimum score of 70% is required.
