This 2 – 2 1/2 hour training is designed for individuals who work in areas that contain asbestos containing materials (ACM), but do not disturb them in the course of their work. Topics include a history of asbestos, an overview of the health effects associated with asbestos, types of ACM, the recognition of damaged and deteriorated ACM, proper work practice requirements to avoid the disturbance of ACM, and proper response to fiber release episodes. This course is designed to inform employees who may work in buildings that contain asbestos. This certification is obtained by attending the first two to two and a half hours of any initial asbestos course.
