This course is designed for people who manage and supervise employees responsible for the packaging and shipping of hazardous materials and for employees who are responsible for the packaging and/or shipping of more than one type of product containing different materials. It features an in-depth discussion and review of the DOT 49 CFR regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials and covers all required subjects except those particular to the individual hazmat employer (i.e., in-depth security or site-specific job functions). Topics include Identification of hazardous materials, marking and labeling requirements, shipping paper documentation, placarding requirements, and emergency response rules. Title 49 regulations are used throughout the course. One copy of an enhanced 49 CFR book is provided to each student and is included in the price of the class. This course meets DOT requirements and the UPS Hazmat training mandate.
