Prerequisite: Strong working knowledge of DOT Hazmat Regulations. This 8-hour course is designed to fulfill the 49 CFR 172 Subpart H requirement for recurrent training at least once every three years. Students are updated with regulatory changes and are given refresher training in the use and application of the 49 CFR manual. Other topics covered include: hazardous materials identification, marking and labeling requirements, shipping paper documentation, placarding requirements, and emergency response rules. A copy of the current Title 49 CFR regulation book is provided in class for reference only. This course meets DOT requirements and the UPS Hazmat training mandate.
