Fab construction sites in Arizona expect every worker to arrive trained. Most require OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction, plus task training such as fall protection, excavation competent person and confined space. ETC trains subcontractor crews in Phoenix, in Tucson or at your yard, so your crew is ready before badging day.

Why fab sites set a higher bar
Arizona’s fab projects are some of the largest, most watched construction sites in the country. In 2023 an average of 12,000 workers were on the TSMC Arizona site every day, and TSMC signed a voluntary safety agreement with the state that brought ADOSH site visits (12News). A crew that shows up without the right cards does not start work, and a sub that delays the schedule rarely gets the next scope.
Training most fab projects ask for
Fall protection deserves extra attention. It has been OSHA’s most cited standard for more than a decade, and 29 CFR 1926.503 requires training for every worker exposed to a fall hazard. Arizona summers add another risk, so our construction heat safety guide is worth sharing with every foreman.
HAZWOPER on a fab site. Most craft workers never need it. It applies when your scope includes digging in contaminated soil, handling hazardous waste or responding to a chemical release. If your subcontract names HAZWOPER, we will confirm the right level with you before anyone enrolls.
Owner and GC site requirements
Each owner and general contractor sets its own site-access rules and orientation. Those come on top of the OSHA training this page covers, so your crew needs both. We handle the OSHA side so your people walk into orientation with their cards in hand.

Crews we train
We train subcontractor crews working on TSMC Arizona and Intel projects, from electrical and mechanical trades to excavation and specialty contractors. ETC has trained Arizona crews since 1993, and we know what a fab GC expects to see in your prequalification file.
Getting a crew trained fast
- A few workers? Book open-enrollment seats in Phoenix or Tucson. Classes hold up to 20 people.
- A whole crew? We run a private class at your yard or at our campus, on your schedule.

FAQs
Do fab projects accept online OSHA 10 and 30 cards?
It depends on the general contractor. Many fab projects ask for in-person training, so check your contract before you register anyone. In-person classes with ETC meet that requirement.
How quickly can you train a crew of 20?
A crew of 20 fits one private class. OSHA Outreach rules cap training at 7.5 hours a day, so OSHA 10 runs over two days and OSHA 30 over four. Send us your start date and we will book backward from it.
Does the OSHA 30 card expire?
Not under federal OSHA rules. Some projects set their own renewal period, so check your site’s requirements before relying on an older card.
